We were given ‘transformation’ as the theme and here's how I expressed it. “Transformation”... “Trans”... “Transgender!”. Through this artwork, I wanted to talk about the transgender community in Singapore, specifically trans-men. Having a sense of identity and security is important to most people. However, the transgender community has to go through a tedious process in order to change their gender in their identity card, with no feeling of security. I hope that I could raise awareness about this and urge Singapore to transform into an inclusive country where the transgender community receives the rights they deserve.

We were given ‘transformation’ as the theme and here's how I expressed it. 'Syurga di bawah tapak kaki ibu' is a Malay proverb that translates to 'Heaven undermother's feet' in English. Growing up with divorced parents, I had only my mother to lean on. Even though I am grateful to have at least one parent role in my life, the absence of a father figure has had a significant impact on my mental health. My childhood was spent wondering where my father had gone and why God had not provided me with a father. It left a void in my youth because I didn't have a father. This damaged my inner kid, making it more difficult for me to heal. With therapy, I was told to do things that cure my inner child, such as play with children's toys. Through this work, I wanted to talk about how an absent parent figure transformed a child’s growth for the worse, hurting the inner child of an adult.
